Scottish Wake Warrior

Originally from Ullapool, Scotland, and now based in Orland, Florida, 20-year-old Adam Errington lit a fire under the worldwide wakeboarding scene this year. A fierce personality matched with precision riding skills, Adam bashed competitive boundaries with his consistent, technical and aggressive riding, taking a top-five place in all of the King of Wake events this year, and scoring the 2007 Rookie of the Year title. Look out for Adam as he finishes the ‘08 contest season, and blazes through the New Year into a collaborative video project for ‘09.
“is one of the best all around wakeboarders I’ve seen in a long time. He’s good at every aspect of riding, from free riding for the mags and films, to consistently placing top five in the pro series this year. I’m very excited to see what he brings to the team in the years to come.”

Sophisticated Style for Miles

High amplitude and high-style pipe runs mark Elena Hight’s take on snowboarding. Elena’s aggressive yet refined style and consistent bag of tricks have brought her to contests around the globe–earning her a worldly perspective past her years, and a spot at the forefront of the next generation of women riders, pushing the sport, further, faster and higher.
“Elena is a great addition to our team,” says Barrett Christy, Snowboard Mentor. “Nike 6.0 has always been about the youth and capturing the energy and enthusiasm of this culture on and off the snow. Elena can ride it all, but is best known for her explosive halfpipe runs. Despite her age, Elena has the confidence, focus and talent of a seasoned pro. She is pushing women’s snowboarding to a new level, and has the kind of style that earns her the respect and recognition of snowboarders young and old.”

Elena joins Nike 6.0 snowboarders Mason Aguirre, Broc Waring, Matt Ladley, Ellery Hollingsworth, Trevor Jacob, Byn Valaika, Ben Watts and Ross Baker.
Welcome to the crew!

This past Sunday, Nike 6.0 surfer Casey Brown walked away victorious from the Nixon Surf Challenge. The win is Casey’s second in quick secession–he won his first WQS event a couple of weeks ago at the Vans El Ponto Loco contest.
Josh Kerr (AUS), Hira Terinatoofa (PYF), Eric Rebiere (FRA) and Casey Brown (USA) were the final four to hit the water. In the end it was Casey who stood out from the pack and went home with the 5,000 euros prize money, the largest amount given to the first-place winner in the contest’s nine-year history. Brown locked in his win by getting the best barrel of the event, following it with a massive front-side air.
“The waves were so fun, the food was amazing and I won 5,000 euros–I’m psyched,” said Brown. “It was such a great event hanging with all the boys with no pressure. The Surf Challenge was just all about trying to get sick waves.”
Meanwhile, back stateside, Riley Metcalf was finding some sick waves of his own at Oceanside Pier. Enough waves in fact to wrap up second place in the Men’s Final at the second stop of the NSSA Southwest Open Season.
We’re so stoked to have Casey and Riley ripping in the name of six point 0. With more performances like this it won’t be long till everyone knows what we’ve known all along–the 6.0 surf team is one of the best in the water.
And, speaking of all things surf, some of us went to the recent toll road hearings in Del Mar to show support for a cause that affects us all–the Save Trestles campaign. There were a lot of other companies and individuals there, as well. So hopefully, we as a community of surfers can band together to help Save Trestles. To do your part write the Federal Government and demand they uphold the Coastal Commission decision to protect San Onofre State Beach.

What’s the difference between Nick Taylor and the rest of the wakeskating world? Only Nick can call himself the 2008 Wakeskater of the Year.
Nick received the award at the fifth annual Wake Awards, which were voted upon by a panel of wake industry heavyweights. Nick was honored by the wake community for his continual pursuit of game-changing innovation.
Another guy who’s innovative to the fullest is 6.0 wake photog, Josh Letchworth, who earned Photographer of the Year at the awards ceremony. Rounding out the night, Nike 6.0 was honored with the title of Campaign of the Year. We’re so stoked to be recognized by the industry at the Wake Awards, and we just want to say thank you to our unbelievably talented roster of riders, our Team Mentor, Silas Thurman, and of course Letchworth for making us all look so good.
