MVP - Riley Metcalf

The final day of the Red Bull Riders Cup in Huntington Beach, California saw two high school heavyweights battle it out in some nasty weather.
Huntington Beach High School was strong again this season and proved the team to beat, but San Clemente High came on strong becoming this years regional champions.
In the final game it was San Clemente High taking on last year’s regional champs, Huntington Beach High School. With coaching help from WQS #1, Pat Gudauskas and brothers Dane and Tanner, San Clemente High opened the first period with unbelievable surfing and team work.
Returning champions, Huntington Beach High School were determined to defend their regional title with coaching help from WQS #5 Brett Simpson. Huntington Beach High School pulled out some amazing maneuvers and great overall surfing. However, San Clemente High showed incredible teamwork and coaching, taking the win and becoming the new Red Bull Riders Cup Huntington Beach regional champions.
Riley Metcalf of San Clemente High School was named MVP of the contest.

San Clemente High will now head to San Onofre State Beach in San Clemente, California for the national championships on June 14-15.
