Gravity Bombs Served Up Slopestyle: Crankworx 2007
July 21-29, Whistler, BC
Crankworx went off! The freeride competition saw a crowd of 25,000 stoke out for 9 days of all out dirt carnage. As a first-time sponsor of the event, the Nike 6.0 presence was amazing on a course that looked like something out of a video game. Whistler local and 6.0 team rider Brandon Semenuk put together the run of his life no foot canning the road gap and Indian airing the step up. Brandon’s 360’s out of the satellite dish were the smoothest of the comp. His run garnered a third place finish in the premier slopestyle event of the year. At 16, Brandon is the youngest competitor ever to podium at Whistler’s Crankworx slopestyle. Another Whistler native, Kyle McDonald, grabbed attention and air throwing down the biggest no handers off the Gap-o-tron and rolling into an 8th place finish.

OMG! Kick-ass is an understatement. Crankworx put it down like a car with 4 flat tires doing it like the G-O goes! This course definitely should have been in the X-games and the should shoot his shot and try to make a move to get this type oc course placed in teh X-games. BMX bikes rock and believe it or not people still think that this is a "kids" sport. You have to have gonads the size of Mt. Everest to even think about doing the things that were done at this Crankworx event. Damn, makes me want to go jump on a BMX bike and see what I can do –not. I will leave it to the pros
