Nike 6.0 to do the Dew
Spinner Triple Whips for 3rd at the Dew Tour
HELP WANTED: NAME THE ILL-MOBILE
Dew The Right Thing
It’s official, Nike 6.0 will be a sponsor of the world’s most elite action sports event: The AST Dew Tour and AST Winter Dew Tour. So starting in Baltimore on June 19th look for 6.0 to be blowing up the spot with our unrivaled mix of sneakers, clothes, commercials and insane riders. Here’s what one of the bigwigs, Dan Burris, Nike Action Sports GM, had to say about the partnership:”Nike 6.0 is committed to supporting progressive young action sports athletes. We feel the AST Dew Tour is equally committed to elevating the best action sports athletes from around the world. We look forward to combining the creativity and energy of the Nike 6.0 brand with the premium events of the AST Dew Tour and the new addition of the AST Winter Dew Tour to create an inspiring venue for all action sport athletes.” Speaking of athletes, 6.0’s stable of young guns has reached an absolutely ric-diculous level of skill. And the riders will be out in full force, looking to build upon some excellent results from last year. Who can forget Spinner living up to his name and spinning to win the 2007 Trick of the Year with a mind-blowing 1080. Mike will try to step it up even higher this year, after a 2nd in Orlando saw him come teasingly close to taking home the overall title. As it was, Spinner locked up a fantastic 2nd place finish in the overall for BMX.
Spinner wasn’t the only one representing for the 6.0 last year though. Dennis won Dirt at the Portland stop and finished 2nd in Orlando to bag an impressive 3rd place finish for the BMX Park overall. And don’t forget about Garrett. Mr. Reynolds did well to grab a 3rd in the Cleveland BMX Park comp, but don’t expect the kid to settle for thirds this year. He’s hotter than a boiling kettle at the moment with four recent X Games medals. All in all, it’ll be a competition for the ages, and Nike 6.0 is stoked to be apart of the action. So don’t forget to check back here for all the dirt on this year’s events, including behind-the-scenes photos and videos.
