6.0 Lower’s Pro: Next Week at Trestles
Nike 6.0 is stepping up our game in Surf with our support of the 6.0 Lowers Pro, held at Lower Trestles, April 29th-May 3rd.
192 of the world’s top professional surfers and 32 of the world’s best professional juniors will converge at Lower Trestles, for the Oakley Jr. Pro and the 6.0 Lower’s Pro vying for ASP points and the $80,000 cash purse.
6.0 Lowers Pro will continue to be one of the most touted events on the ASP WQS schedule due to its premiere location and history of groundbreaking competitive surfing match ups. In 2009 and 2010, the event will upgrade to a 6 Star, making it one of only two North American 6 Stars, helping to bring back relevance to the ASP North American leg of the WQS and ensuring that the legacy of competitive surfing at Lowers continues to grow.
The entire 6.0 Surf Team will be participating including Kai Barger, Casey Brown and Dusty Payne. Koa Smith, Evan Gieselman were granted wildcards along with the only female participant Carissa Moore.
Top surfers will be slaying the waves at Lowers, one of CA’s most revered waves. Besides the ripping action, surf-personality Koa Smith will be conducting interviews and bringing to life current issues in surfing and event highlights. Nike will have a Nike i.D booth onsite in the VIP booth where athletes and media can create custom kicks. The Surfrider Foundation will be setting up camp supporting the “Save Trestles” Campaign.
